MEDICATIONS FOR ARTHRITIS

UPPER BACK ISSUES

Introduction

SCHEUERMANN'S DISEASE

The thoracic spine is the region of the spine that runs from just below the neck to the base of the rib cage. The thoracic spine seems slightly rounded when viewed from the side. It has a "C"- shaped shape, with the aperture facing toward the front of the body. A kyphosis is the name given to this normal curve. The thoracic spine appears hunchbacked when the kyphosis is extreme.

SCOLIOSIS

Scoliosis is a spine condition that results in an abnormal C- or S-shaped (dual curved) curvature. The spine is curved to one or both sides rather than being straight.

WHIPLASH

An abrupt extension (neck moving backward) or flexion (neck moving forward) of the cervical spine is referred to as whiplash. An injury caused by a cervical acceleration-deceleration (CAD) is another name for this kind of trauma. The most common cause of whiplash, which results in damage to the cervical spine's muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints, and discs, caused by side- impact or rear-end motor vehicle accidents.

NECK PAIN

A typical reason for doctor visits is often neck pain. The normal origin of neck pain is not one specific injury. Instead, the issue typically arises over time as a result of the pressure and strain of regular tasks. The components of the spine eventually start to deteriorate. Neck pain may develop as a result of the deterioration.

DROPPED HEAD SYNDROME

The muscles in the back of the neck exhibit extreme weakness, which is a symptom of dropped head syndrome. When standing or sitting, this results in the chin resting on the chest. Other names for the syndrome include Head Ptosis and Floppy Head Syndrome.

CERVICAL SPINAL STENOSIS

The spinal cord is a column of nerve tissue that is shielded in the spinal column by a bone tube. The spinal cord runs the risk of being compressed under circumstances that make this tube's interior area smaller. Cervical spinal stenosis, often known as cervical stenosis, is the medical term for this narrowing of the neck's spinal column. Myelopathy, a disorder that necessitates medical treatment, is brought on by pressure exerted against the spinal cord as a result of spinal stenosis. Bowel and bladder issues, as well as changes to walking gait, can result from myelopathy.

CERVICAL RADICULOPATHY

There are numerous causes of neck pain. The soft tissues located in the neck can become injured or inflamed, resulting in mechanical neck pain. Compared to symptoms caused by pressure placed on the nerve roots as they leave the spinal column, this scenario is considerably different and less problematic. This issue is sometimes described as a pinched nerve. Cervical radiculopathy is the term used by medical professionals.

CERVICAL BURNERS AND STINGERS or BRACHIAL PLEXIS INJURIES

Burners or stingers are injuries to the nerves around the neck and shoulder that produce a burning or stinging sensation. This kind of nerve damage is also known as a brachial plexus injury. Football players are most frequently impacted. Most college football players have experienced at least one burner or stinger. These injuries largely might have happened during high school football. Thankfully, there's no major neck damage.
